Roaming

Roaming and international calls are different questions

Independent information to help you understand the question and prepare your next step.

Roaming means using the line on a network abroad. International calling can mean placing a call from the UK to an overseas number. A plan can treat these activities differently even when the destination country is the same.

Check the relevant details

Before travel, check the exact country, the account’s plan version, any activation condition and the permitted activity. Confirm whether a travel feature covers calls, messages and data or data alone.

Look for the important distinction

Review fair-use limits and what happens when an allowance is exhausted. With two lines in one phone, check which handles mobile data and which remains available for calls or verification messages.

What this means for your decision

A domestic unlimited label does not determine overseas inclusion. Recheck the official country guidance close to the departure date, and keep instructions available if the line cannot connect when you arrive.

Prepare three notes before a call
